A central concern of the HyTrA project is direct communication with regional stakeholders and the associated dissemination of results in South Africa. During the trip, the HySA Infrastructure Initiative in Potchefstroom near Johannesburg was visited first. In addition to the exchange of information on the current status of research work in the field of electrochemical analysis of components, the existing test stands were also visited. Further exchange and cooperation are planned.
Afterwards, the project group travelled on to Cape Town to hold final talks with the practical partners on site. Among others, exchange was sought with the University in Stellenbosch as well as with the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Southern Africa.
In the second workshop with representatives from science and industry, the topics of bilateral supply chains, component production and embedding in the German hydrogen strategy were discussed. Both NOW GmbH and a representative of the German embassy participated virtually in the workshop.
In parallel to these activities, the key data for the transport of the microgrid and its commissioning at the practice partner were fixed.
