We are pleased to announce the launch of our affiliate project “HygO”. We aim to develop a revolutionary concept for green energy and clean water in Namibia. For this purpose we are working on the development of a self-sufficient energy system in the form of a microgrid. We use an electrolyzer to store renewable energy in the form of hydrogen, which can be converted back into electricity in a fuel cell if required. In addition, we use the oxygen produced during electrolysis to treat wastewater or service water to produce drinking water.
The goal of HygO is to create robust and efficient microgrids that can be used for various application scenarios. Through the innovative use of the waste electrolysis product oxygen and other filtration technologies, we can treat drinking water from “dirty-water”. We are excited about the future and the successful implementation of our project.
At the beginning of our project all project partners will travel to Namibia in the week of 20.03.-27.03. to network with local partners on site and to define a concrete application scenario on site.
